Tackling the Plastic Problem

We are excited to announce that we have partnered with CleanHub. By supporting this organisation, together we’ll be investing in plastic recovery through a network of collection hubs across Asia! CleanHub specifically target non-recyclable plastics, which would be otherwise left in landfill, dumped in our seas or, burnt. Instead they are redirected to industrial plants that responsibly convert them into energy, reducing the carbon footprint of their industrial processes by up to 25% - amazing!

What will this do for our oceans?

We are delighted to say that for every product you purchase from Arvor Life, you will be helping to remove 1lb of ocean-bound plastic. The entire process is tracked through CleanHub’s own Track & Trace technology, ensuring certified impact.

What is ocean-bound plastic?

As the name suggests, it’s plastic waste that is bound for the ocean. As in, it’s plastic that is close enough to shore that it is in danger of becoming marine plastic.

What plastic is collected?

80% of the plastic waste that ends up in the oceans is so-called flexible packaging or multilayer packaging, like chip packets, sauce sachets, etc. This material is either impossible to recycle or there is no demand from the market for the products (unlike water bottles which are commonly collected as they can be recycled, and so have ‘value’). Plastic that can’t be recycled is openly burned in small backyard fires or in landfills, or it is carried away into nature by the monsoon or strong winds. While CleanHub do collect all plastics, they focus on non-recyclable plastic to maximize their impact.

Arvor Life Partnership

We're delighted to be working alongside CleanHub to prevent ocean-bound plastic reaching the seas in Asia. This goes hand in hand with our approach for tackling ocean plastic on UK shores, with our beach cleaning efforts.
